What’s the latest happenings in your writerly world?
2007 was an excellent year for me in regards to titles that were published. I actually had two books to drop:
Ladies’ Night Out dropped in January 2007!

These Are My Confessions was released in July 2007.

Both were chosen as Black Expressions Book Club selections and have received rave reviews.
Recently, I finished the novel-length version of my short story featured in the These Are My Confessions anthology and I’m presently working on another manuscript.
I feel very blessed to be in a position to live out my dream of being a published author and to have the ability to fulfill my passion.
What’s one thing you’ve learned about the writing industry over the last year?
The one thing I have learned is that the writing industry is a tough market, very tough. Thanks to self-publishing, the market is over saturated with books by African-American authors. Readers now have many, many choices to satisfy their literary pallets. However, on the flip side, it is all the more difficult as an author to maintain a presence, to market and promote his/her product(s), and to keep his/her name in the forefront of the consumer book buying public.
